Child Care

Iowa Department of Human Services recommends that parents and families who telecommute during this time keep their children home with them. The health and safety of children, family, staff, and child care providers is of the utmost importance. Our campus child care centers operate under the authority and guidance of Iowa Department of Human Services, with assistance from Iowa Department of Public Health. Specific guidelines and information regarding the safe operation of child care programs during the COVID-19 pandemic can be found here.

At this time, University Community Childcare and ISU Child Development Laboratory School are open and caring for children. ISU Child Care Center at Veterinary Medicine is currently closed but planning for reopening prior to the start of fall term. Families seeking child care openings due to a COVID-19 closure should visit or call (855) 244-5301. Iowa Department of Human Services also has a tool available for families, available here.
