The CAP-U scholarship is for undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. CAP-U is funded by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a CAP-U scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident currently enrolled in degree-seeking coursework as an undergraduate student
  • Use paid child care services while attending classes or working
  • Financial aid information on file with the Office of Student Financial Aid
  • Demonstrate high financial need
  • Meet standards for satisfactory academic progress (SAP)
  • Claim the dependent child on tax return or have custodial care at least 50% of the time

How to Apply

Applications are accepted from August 1 through May 1 for the current academic year, or until all funds have been awarded. 

To apply for a CAP-U scholarship, you will need the following documents:

  • Completed PDF application (see below)
  • Tax return (Form 1040) for most recent tax year
    • If you did not file a tax return: Explain the reason you did not file in your application
  • Two parent households: You will need the other parent's most recent tax return (if you filed separately)
  • International students: Form I-20

Applications will be reviewed and scored in the order they are received. You will be notified within 7-10 business days whether you have been awarded a CAP-U scholarship.
