Adult & Elder Care
Aging Resources of Central Iowa helps elderly individuals lead independent, meaningful, and active lives by providing access to various services and programs. They offer support in areas such as health and wellness, caregiver assistance, elder abuse prevention, and resource coordination.
Central Iowa RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) enhances the lives of adults aged 55 and older by connecting them with meaningful volunteer opportunities that address community needs. They offer services such as volunteer management, transportation assistance, and emergency management.
Heartland of Story County offers life-enriching opportunities for older adults through their adult day center, home-delivered noon meals, and outreach via home visits and telephone calls.
Employee & Family Resources can provide information, referrals, and support to those caring for an aging parent or relative. This includes connections to local agencies offering in-home care, alternative living arrangements, legal or financial issues, and more. This is a service of ISU's Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
SHIIP is a free, confidential service of the State of Iowa that helps Iowans make informed decisions about Medicare and other health coverage.
Crisis Services
Helping survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, homicide and other violent crime. Services include housing, advocacy, counseling, support groups, education and crisis response services.
Provides information and referral, counseling, crisis service coordination, and linkages to crisis screening and mental health services, including dispatch of the CICS Mobile Response Team 24 hours a day in Story County. Additional resources are available to help with alcohol, drugs, gambling, as well as mental health and suicidal thoughts.
