Cyclone Parenting Student Network
Welcome to the Cyclone Parenting Student Network (CPSN), a supportive community tailored to the needs of parenting students. Balancing the demands of college life while raising a family can be both rewarding and challenging, but within CPSN you'll find a welcoming space where empathy, understanding, and collaboration are the focus.
CPSN facilitates connections between parenting students and their children through social events and parenting workshops. There is no membership application or form to fill out - simply join one of our events! We believe these opportunities to meet and connect with other families for advice, support, and friendship can help parenting students build a community that will empower them to thrive academically and personally.

| Tuesday, October 22 | 6:00 - 7:15 pm | The Science of Parenting: Children's Ages and Parenting Stages (Virtual). As kids grow through different ages, parents also go through stages! Join The Science of Parenting team for this virtual workshop and learn about those stages, development, and tips for adapting your parenting to your child's ages and abilities.Click here to register. |
| Wednesday, November 20 | 6:00 - 7:15 pm | Parent Cafe: Parental Resilience- Being a Strong Parent (Virtual). Parent Cafe is a nationally recognized peer-to-peer learning process where parents and caregivers talk about their challenges. These workshops are led by a facilitator and focus on the "5 Protective Factors": Building parental resilience, increasing knowledge of parenting and child development, making positive social connections, developing concrete support in times of need, and using communication tools to build social and emotional competence in children. The Office of Child Care and Family Services at ISU is partnering with Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) to host this virtual workshop. Click here to register. |
